It's me, India, the girl behind the camera! I'm so happy you've visited my site. I love the beauty and endless possibilities photography provides. A little bit about my journey. . .

For as long as I can remember, I've been a creative person. From drawing on my parents' bedroom wall with a sharpie (which they kept until we moved years later!) to drawing and writing my own "books," I've found so much joy and intrigue in artistic outlets.

Around age 7, my dad bought a point and shoot Fuji to take candids of every life. Family gatherings, sports events, there he was with his camera. I became curious and started taking my own snaps here and there. I didn't think about it as much else than something fun to do while out and about until it was time for college.

In undergrad, I studied journalism and was required to have a minor. I'd had an interest in photography but never fully explored it, so I thought, why not now? Best decision ever! I found myself looking forward to my photo classes more than most others, and was always excited for my next project. I initially preferred shooting landscape and still-life, citing the fact that they can't complain or pressure me like real, breathing humans. But I honestly think I was just intimidated by photographing people and opening myself up to working with different personalities and potential judgment. But I faced this fear head on in an early project and was instantly hooked.

There's something so special and fulfilling when you can meet someone and have the honor of capturing a special time in their life. My favorite part of it all? Sharing the final images and experiencing the joy my clients feel, some seeing themselves in a new light for the first time. I am so grateful to each person I shoot with and look forward to the next!

Fun facts

  • Other favorite creative outlets include dancing, singing, playing piano, and crafting.

  • I can recite by memory multiple scenes from Scandal (in an alternate universe, I'm an actress).

  • I incorporate random quotes from movies and TV shows into my daily lingo.

  • I studied abroad in Spain my junior year of college and want to go back every single day. My Spanish is surprisingly bad :')
